BLT Soup

1 lb. bacon, chopped and fried lightly (drain off the grease)
1 stick of butter
1/2 head of shredded lettuce
1/2 to 3/4 cup of flour
1 Qt. of water
1 Qt. half and half
1 Tbsp Ham soup base
1 Tbsp Chicken soup base
2 chopped tomatoes


Put bacon in 3 Qt kettle add butter, then melt. Add  shredded lettuce and saute for a couple of minutes. Add 1/2 to 3/4 cup of flour and stir until mixed well. Add water, ham soup base, chicken soup base. Stir until thick. When thick, add half and half and heat to a simmer. Add chopped tomatoes and serve.
